The Ras Al Khaimah International Marin Sports Club (RAK-IMC) is a water sport club founded in 1986 and officially established under the UAE Water Federation in 1989. It has served many Emirati Nationals in supporting their love of water sports.
The RAK-IMC is located on the main Corniche Road at the end of the natural creek of Ras Al Khaimah, surrounded by protected mangroves and the home to a rich and flora. This all set against the backgrounds of the majestic Hajjar mountains. The club offers Kayaking, Waterskiing, Traditional and Olympic Rowing, in addition toe Dragon Boating.
The RAK-IMC has steadily improved over the years. The club has invested in infrastructure. This will allow the club to cater for national and international watersports events.
RAC-IMC is located in a gated enclosure with its own mosque and spacious free parking spaces. The club has a control room overlooking the creek exclusively for officials, wish state of the art communication equipment and sophisticated timing cameras. In addition there is a well-equipped meeting room, board room and office rooms for staff. The club has its own direct beach access and a jetty for boats.
For the up-and-coming Dragon Boat Regatta, the club has 10 well maintained, internationally recognized Racing Dragon Boats. There are 5 standard boats that can sit 20 paddlers plus a drummer and oarsman, as well as 5 small boats that cant sit 10 paddlers plus a drummer and oarsman. There are 3 high-powered speedboats available at all times for the umpire and judges, as well as an official Coast Guard boat present in every event.
